Bespoke
Commissioning a hand-tailored bespoke suit follows a tradition some hundreds of years old.
Made to the highest standards of artisan craftsmanship, it is a signature of personality, individuality and lifestyle and symbolizes the ultimate luxury of the discerning, culturally aware gentleman.
As each customer and his requirements are individual, so is their order.
To meet these unique requirements, we follow an old, tried and true procedure….
The Consultation
Aware of the paramount importance of trust, we first welcome our customers to an individual in-depth conversation. Personal preferences are discussed and the sartorial need and style “bespoken” - like the length of the jacket, the width of the lapel or the number and position of pockets. Or - in case of the trousers - the rise, the width of the leg or which type of fly – zipper or buttons – you prefer.
The Cloth-Selection
We proceed to the selection of your personal cloth. With our assistance and due regard to your needs and purposes, the most appropriate choice will be made from a broad range of several hundreds of the fabrics - in respect of feel, weight, colour and pattern, from smooth to rough, lightweight to heavyweight, modest grey to bright green.
The Measurement
Once the cloth is confirmed, your body-measurements will be taken. More than 20 different ones, considering every little discrepancy and configuration, before finally being incorporated into your wholly individual hand-draft cut, that later will be stored in our archive and updated upon every visit.
The Cutting
The moment of the suits real creation: The pattern finished, it is chalked out on to the cloth, and then - with the most meticulousness and provided with a generous amount of inlay – cut out by hand.
First Fitting
During the preparation for the First Fitting, many hundreds of hand-stitches mark the separate hand-cut components, draft and unite them with the entirely handmade inner linen body to awake altogether to a soft shell of a suit.
Second Fitting
Preparing the suit for the Second Fitting, it is carefully taken apart again and, after precise recording and carrying-out of the necessary adjustments, prepared for further processing: the finishing of the pockets and edges and the working in of the lining. Shoulders are then put together by hand and the sleeves inserted to recompose the suit for the so-called Second Fitting.
Final Fitting
After the Second Fitting is scrutinised, the work for the third fitting and usually last fitting will be carried out: the so-called Final Fitting. All finishing-work is completed, the collar attached, buttonholes individually sewn by hand, buttons applied cross-stitched and the suit carefully hand pressed a final time.
The Collection
Your suit is now finished and - prepared in one of our exclusive hand-tailored garment bags – ready for you to collect.
